naos suite by horst3180 naos suite by horst3180
An elegant GTK suite with support for Metacity, Emerald and XFWM4.
Also included:
a conky config
a wallpaper (please resize it for your needs)

This uses the Murrine engine GIT version, so make sure you install it.
Please read the README file for further instructions.

I recommend using Emerald or XFWM with this suite, because i really suck at creating Metacity themes. It would be nice if someone could make a better one.

Update:
Fixed some small bugs
Changed some details

What font are you using? Has it accents?

Thanks!
The systemfont is Sans 7 and the font in the wallpaper is called NeoSans. They have accents i think.

Great, love it, but can you make another version, with darker menus, and other backgrounds?

The archive contains a folder called "conky". Copy the contents of this folder to ~/.conky and start conky with "conky -c ~/.conky/conkyrc-naos".

Yes, this folder isn't there by default so you have to create it. It's just easier to put all files related to conky into one folder. You can also put the files in your home folder and start conky with "conky -c ~/conkyrc-naos".

You have to copy the theme folder to /usr/share/themes for system-wide use.

What you are experiencing does not seem to be a bug in the theme itself... Synaptic is being run as root and is not theming properly, there are different ways to fix that.

For example you could link the themes folders from your user to root's theme folder

Is there a way to change the scroll bars to grey so they match the rest of the theme?

:iconhorst3180:

Yes, you have to open the gtkrc file. Then add bg[SELECTED] = @selected_bg_color to the section style "scrollbar" and save the file.

I have problems extracting the download. I can extract it from the .gz, but after that it's an unknown file. This is on a fresh install of Xubuntu 10.04

Yes, i already know this bug. The archive has been renamed after upload, i don't know why. To fix this just add .tar to the unknown file.
